“Shit, shit, shit! I forgot to get my clothes out last night and I’m having a crappy fat day, what should I wear to work!?”
To avoid having the blues every time you look at your wardrobe for the office, take the time to build yourself a ‘uniform’. Having go-to pieces reduces the stress of trying to work out what to wear, especially when pressed for time.
A good place to start is to buy a colour palate of light, dark, colour and print to suit your skin and hair tones and you’ll never be left wondering “What should I wear for work?”.
Even if surviving on 2 hours sleep, the kids are sick and coffee machine is broken, when you have a go-to wardrobe you’ll be thanking yourself every time for being so clever.
A perfect ‘work uniform’ should consist of light, dark, colour and print;
Short sleeve shirt
Long sleeve shirt
Knee length skirt
Knee length dress
These are a few of my recommended favourites;
ST FROCK SUPER SOFT BLOUSE
The super soft blouse comes in a 11 different patterns, this is the leopard print, also plain white/ivory. Its a great wardrobe staple as the cut and fit are flattering and it can be worn long or short sleeve (Sizing is quite generous so I suggest ordering a size lower than your usual for a perfect fit).

EXECUTIVE DECISION STRETCH TAILORED PANTS
Pants are not my favourite item of clothing to purchase. I have big netballer thighs and a flat office worker butt so when something fits nicely around these hard-to-fit bits I buy eleventy pairs in all the colours.
Pictured are the beige Executive Decision Stretch Tailored Pants. I have them in grey and navy too. They also come in white, black and charcoal (when you’re on to a good thing, buy them all)
I’m usually a size 14 but to be safe I bought 16’s. Its a good thing I did because they’re a firm fit despite the description stating “stretch”.

CHASING KATE MID LENGTH DRESS WITH POCKETS
People complementing my dress: “That’s a nice dress”
Me: “THANKS, IT HAS POCKETS!!!”
Give me a dress with pockets and I go bat-shit crazy from pure adrenalin fuelled joy, kinda like when you have your first date night away from the kids so you eat chocolate in the kitchen with the music on loud because who cares, the kids aren’t home.
Its the ultimate mum-of-a-toddler dress without looking like a sloppy frump. You’ll probs fill the pockets with snotty tissues, a few loose sultanas and a toy car but DAMN who doesn’t love a good dress with pockets.
“What should I wear to work?” The Chasing Kate Mid Length Dress with Pockets.
The Chasing Kate Mid Length Dress also comes in plain black and white/black stripe… I have enough black in my wardrobe already so I decided to change it up and contrast with the stripe.
Sizing for this dress is bang on by the way so I got these in my usual 14.
(FYI horizontal stripes don’t make you look fat, myth busted)
The pieces I’m wearing are from St Frock. I love them because they have regular sales, their clothes make you feel beautiful and confident, they’re classy, the clothes are made well and they support Australian fashion designers.

Props to the fashion bloggers out there. Man I felt like such a wanker taking my own photos laughing as if I was told a joke, but really I was laughing at myself at the stupidity of laughing by myself to take a fun photo. Wanker.
